Central Bedfordshire Council: Reading is vital for your child's development
Date Added: 07/09/2022
World Literacy Day encourages us all to take a break and get lost in a book! A new school year is the best time to get young people interested in reading, and one of the best ways to do that is to read with them.
Why not read them a chapter of their favourite book each night or swap half an hour of television for half an hour of shared reading. Just 10 minutes a day of sharing stories with children can have a hugely positive impact on their development now and in the future! So visit your local library and take advantage of this fantastic free resource. Not only do libraries have a great selection of books, but they also have wonderful librarians who can advise you about new books to try.
You can borrow books from the shelves or reserve them on Arena our library catalogue. You can also download e-books and audiobooks through the Virtual Library using Libby and BorrowBox. You just need a Library card and a PIN to access all these wonderful resources.
