Engineering works affecting Great Northern and Thameslink services over the festive period

On Sunday 24 December, planned upgrades to the East Coast Main Line as part of the East Coast Digital Programme will affect journeys between London and Peterborough, Ely and King’s Lynn.
Additionally:
• On Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 December, buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge North.
• From Friday 29 December to Monday 1 January, buses will replace trains between Royston and Cambridge.
• From Wednesday 27 December to Monday 1 January, an additional direct bus service will operate between Royston and Cambridge North to connect with rail services to / from Kings Lynn.
• Trains between London and Royston will run to an amended timetable throughout the period, from Wednesday 27 December to Monday 1 January.

Please also note that:
• Services on all routes will finish earlier on Christmas Eve. All services will finish by 21:00, but on some routes it may be considerably earlier.
• As normal, there will be no Great Northern or Thameslink services on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December
• An amended and reduced service will run between Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th December. Please check National Rail Enquiries' Great Northern and Thameslink webpages for further information about our services during the festive period.
Customers are being urged to check each day before they travel throughout the entire festive period.

• Hertford North and Stevenage
A limited rail replacement bus service will run between:
• St Neots and Bedford
• Hitchin and Royston
• Hitchin and St Neots
• Stevenage and Luton Airport Parkway via Hitchin
• Hitchin and St Albans City via Welwyn Garden City
• Potters Bar and Stevenage
• Hertford North and Stevenage
Trains will run between:
• London Kings Cross and Potters Bar
• Moorgate and Hertford North
• Finsbury Park and St Pancras

• 6 and 7 January – No trains between London and Royston or Peterborough, and also between Moorgate and Stevenage via Hertford North

• 10 and 11 February – No trains between Huntingdon and Peterborough
• 17 to 20 February – No trains between Potters Bar and Royston or Peterborough and also between Hertford North and Stevenage
• 25 February – No trains between Huntingdon and Peterborough
