What do you want from your local pharmaceutical services?
Date Added: 08/06/2022
It’s now your chance to say what you want from your local NHS pharmaceutical services.
Central Bedfordshire Health and Wellbeing Board, wants to hear your views for its latest Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA).
Every three years, the health and wellbeing board assesses pharmaceutical services in our area to discover what people need and whether there are any gaps in what is being provided by community pharmacies and other services under the NHS.
The assessment will be used by NHS England, Central Bedfordshire Council, and the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group to help decide on applications for new pharmacies and for commissioning other services that could be delivered by community pharmacies and other providers.
The board is looking for views from anyone living in Central Bedfordshire or anyone providing pharmaceutical services in Central Bedfordshire.
What are Pharmaceutical Services?
• pharmacies (chemists) and the services they provide, including dispensing, providing advice on health, medicine reviews and local public health services, such as stop smoking, sexual health, and support for drug users
• other pharmaceutical service providers such as those from dispensing appliance contractors and dispensing GPs.
How to have your say
The consultation will open on 8 June 2022 and run until 7 August 2022. You can read the Central Bedfordshire Council Draft PNA 2022 and Survey, by following the link below. Your comments will feed into the final Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment which will be produced by 1 October 2022.
